Donna Miller Rostant

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Villa Maria College in Erie, Pennsylvania, Donna continued on to graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania where she received a Master's Degree in Nursing in 1982. Specializing in the area of women's and newborn health, Donna was certified as a nurse practitioner. For 12 years, Donna practiced nursing during which she held various positions from a clinical staff nurse to the quality assurance and clinical education coordinator at the Women's Hospital Center of the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Donna also taught nursing in college based-programs across the country and was a clinical and assistant professor of nursing at Villa Maria College, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Southern Mississippi. During that period, she was appointed to many national committees of professional nursing organizations including the National Standards Committee and National Education Committee of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing. Additionally, she was one of five nurses selected for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists'(ACOG) Voluntary Review of Quality of Care Committee wherein she evaluated the quality and delivery of perinatal services in hospitals throughout the country.
